Thank you for purchasing a OneSpace Manager Server product. Our newest release of
Manager Server contains several enhancements and new features. Please see the
"Update Training" document for a list of new features.
This document contains
information that may not be included in the documentation for Manager Server
2007 (15.00). Please read this document before installing the product for any
last minute information.
Click a link below for
more information.
As previously announced,
OneSpace Modeling, Drafting, Model Manager and Drawing Manager are not
supported on HP-UX with the CoCreate OneSpace 2007 release. HP-UX database and
file servers continue to be supported. Refer to the platform
support document for more details.
HP-UX customers may
continue to use OneSpace Designer 2005 on HP-UX or they may upgrade to
Microsoft Windows and run OneSpace 2007 on Windows.
Beginning with OneSpace
Manager 14.20, the installer has been improved to automatically detect whether
an upgrade or a new installation is required. The detection process uses a
client to connect to the database and that client is unable to connect to
unsupported versions (like WorkManager 5 and WorkManager 6). Customers that
need to upgrade from those very old versions will need to upgrade in two steps,
from the old version to an intermediate supported version (like OneSpace
Manager 13), then from that intermediate version to Manager Server 15.00.
This release is upgrade
protected. All customers with support contracts should have already received
upgrade licenses as part of the Manager Server 2007 upgrade process.
Beginning with the 2004
(12.00) versions of CoCreate products, a version compatibility check is
performed between the application and the license server. You will receive an
error message if the license server version number is less than the application
version number. Details of the licensing changes are included in the following
sections:
When Manager Server is
upgraded to 2007, you must upgrade to MEls 15.00.
Starting with the
revision 11.60 of the license server and the revision 11.60 of the applications
a version compatibility check is done between these components.
If the major version of
the application is greater than the major version of the license server a
warning is shown within the application and at the license server but licenses
will be granted and used if they are available.
With the major revision
12 of the ME License Server the warning will be converted into an error, and
the license(s) will not be granted, therefore the software application cannot
be used.
In summary the following
condition must be fulfilled for every application revision 2004 (12) or
greater:
Major Version(License Server) [EQUAL or GREATER] Major Version(Application)
Starting
with revision 12 the License Server will reject blocked licenses.
Blocked licenses are licenses which are marked as "blocked" in the
CoCreate license database.
Usually licenses were blocked if they were split or moved to other License
Servers during a license exchange process.
No operations can be performed on blocked licenses.
During the license exchange process the customer confirmed to remove them from
his license configuration and never use them in the future.
Therefore it is never valid to use any blocked license.
If such invalid licenses
are found in an active license configuration the License Server will select and
disable them.
Attention: The license administrator has to remove such licenses from the
active license configuration to have a valid license configuration.
Only the License Server
revision 12 will keep blocked licenses active during a grace period of three months.
This grace period will give the license administrator enough time to
consolidate his license configuration to setup a valid license configuration.
After this grace period all blocked licenses are disabled by the License Server
and cannot be used anymore.
All further License Server revisions after
revision 12 will not have any grace period any more. Blocked licenses then will
be disabled immediately.
In Annotation revisions
14.50 and earlier, the default PDF generation settings used a default pen size
of 0. At 15.00, the default pen size changed to 0.5, making it difficult to see
all of the lines when you have scales of 1:2 or
smaller.
The plot attributes can
be modified in Annotation by creating a custom style, which can then be sent to
Model Manager to use when creating a PDF. See the Model Manager Customization Guide, "PDF
customization" for more information.
Design
Data Management and Drawing Manager both need the environment variable WMDT_DIR. Design Data Management needs:
WMDT_DIR=C:\Program Files\CoCreate\OneSpace Manager 2007\desktop
Drawing
Manager needs:
WMDT_DIR=C:\Program Files\CoCreate\Shared\Model Manager 2007\desktop
Customers
who need to run both Drawing Manager and Design Data Management on the same
computer will need to change the values of the WMDT_DIR environment variable when they switch between Drawing
Manager and Design Data Management. When the WMDT_DIR value is changed, Drafting must be restarted.
Drawing Manager requires
that the environment variable WMDT_PROFILE is set to EXPERT.

LET Awm_val_store_old_version "STORE_270" This
macro makes it possible to store a Drawing 2D into MI format 2.70
LET
Awm_val_store_old_version "STORE_270 ANNO" This macro makes it
possible to store a Drawing 2D into MI format 2.70 with Annotation info (MI
File Creating System). (Useful for users using Drafting and Annotation
synchronously)
LET
Awm_val_store_old_version "STORE ANNO" This macro makes it possible
to store a Drawing 2D into MI format 2.80 (current) with Annotation mode.
(Drafting <> Annotation's users)
Note
"Show Alternative
Versions" is a new option inside of the Design Data Management function
that is new to the "Reload" option within OneSpace Modeling.
"Show Alternative
Versions" expands the "Reload" option with the possibility of
reloading any version of elements from Manager Server.
Use of the New Version
Replace functionality will cause previous versions of thumbnails to no longer
be visible. Use of the functionality will also interfere with replication of
versions when using Global Data Management.
Store functionality is
now expanded with the new "Store Modify" option, which allows you to
store all parts and assemblies beneath the selected assembly automatically. All
new and modified parts and assemblies are stored to Manager Server with the
previous selected store conditions. This is the same as manually saving all
elements from bottom to top separately.
The SAP Process Adapter
can only be installed as part of the Windows installation from the CDROM. You
must install the Design Data Management personality to obtain the macros for
the SAP Process Adapter.
